obituary and Public notice FAQ's

Can I make corrections or additions to an obituary or public notice?

Yes. Corrections or additions can be made as long as they are submitted before the deadline. Log in to your account, locate your notice in the “Future Ads” section, and select “Modify.”

If you are paying by credit card and the cost changes, your account will be automatically credited or charged with the difference.

Is the preview an accurate representation of how the obituary or public notice will appear in print?

Yes. The preview reflects exactly how the notice will appear in the newspaper.

What if I miss the deadline for a publication?

If the deadline has passed, you will need to select the next available publication date. If a date does not appear as an option, it is no longer available. Please refer to the DEADLINES section for more details.

Can I customize the formatting (e.g., type size, bold text)?

Formatting options are limited. Some basic layout choices may be available, but full customization is not supported.

Is there a size limit for the body of an obituary or public notice?

No. As you enter your content, it will automatically adjust to fit the appropriate size for publication.

How will I know if my obituary or public notice was received?

After submitting your order, you will receive a confirmation email along with a PDF proof of your notice. Please ensure that you provide a valid email address to receive your proof.

What file format is required for photos?

All photos must be submitted in JPEG (JPG) format.

Can I use a photo from a website?

Photos taken from websites are often too low in resolution for print and may appear blurry. For best results, use a high-resolution image.

What is a good resolution for a photo?

Photos should be at least 200 dpi (dots per inch) at the size they will be printed.

Is there a maximum file size for a photo?

Yes. Photos must be 2 MB (2,000 KB) or smaller.
