High school students: What’s your vision for the future?
Calling all high school students…
Wouldn’t it be cool to have your writing published in the Chicago Sun-Times as a guest columnist?!
Here’s your chance to turn that dream into reality! We’re inviting you to submit a column based on the theme "Looking Ahead."
Share your vision for the future of Chicago or yourself in a brief writing sample, and you could be featured in the Sun-Times! No topic is off-limits – whether it’s personal goals, professional aspirations, the environment, diversity or politics, we want to hear your unique perspective.
Here’s how it works:
High school students ages 13-18 are invited to submit an original, unpublished 525-600 word writing sample* now through December 31.
All entrants under the age of 18 must submit a parental consent form.
A panel of Sun-Times staff will choose guest columnists to feature.
Columnists will have an opportunity to have their final writing column edited by a Sun-Times editor.
Winners’ columns will be published in the paper and online.
Winners will each receive a $250 stipend.
*Note: writing samples will be used to determine contest winners, but winners will have the opportunity to write a different column once selected.
We can’t wait to read your submissions!
